I'm a structural design engineer — it's the field I've devoted my career to, for the past 25 years. For nearly as long, I've been writing VBA code behind Excel: not because anyone asked me to, but to work more efficiently, and often just to teach myself something better. Along the way I picked up the NAFEMS PSE 'Entry' certificate and am currently studying for the 'Standard' level.
About 15 years ago, I tried to build a website to share some of that Excel-based work with other engineers. I didn't get far — it was simply too hard a job for me to do alone at the time, and I gave up.
The idea stayed with me, though. With the recent, genuinely remarkable progress in AI, I was finally able to do what I couldn't do alone: working with Claude, I converted years of my own Excel calculation tools — and built a few new ones — into onurhelps.com. I'm no longer bounded by the time constraints that stopped me the first time around; now the limit is just my own imagination.
Everything here is free to use, with no sign-up required. These tools are intended for self-study, training, and engineering visualization — they don't replace applicable design codes, project requirements, or independent engineering verification.
